Edit words with Term Customizer

General information

Overview

As a general admin, the translation configuration module can be used to modify terms used in the interface.

NB: this module allows you to create local overrides sets, the changes do not impact Decidim's core. We can therefore easily keep sets to adjust the interface according to the projects.

Options

Manage translations

  1. Create a new translation set
  2. Give it a name (in several languages if the config is multilingual) and remove the default constraint
  3. Click on Add Several and using the search field, search for all the terms to add to the local overrides (all the terms you want to edit) then Add.
  4. Then, click on Export > JSON
  5. Edit the JSON received by e-mail
  6. Return to the admin, select actions > delete all existing locals
  7. From there, import the new JSON
  8. Finally, click Purge Cache on the main screen and then refresh.

Alternative method

Edit the words one by one directly on interface:

NB: If the platform is in several languages, the set of locals must be translated within the same set. A set of locals cannot concern only one language.

Example: If the local “Lorem Ipsum” is modified to French in the set of translate A, “Lorem Ipsum” cannot be translated to English in the set of translate B.
